Ceramic Murals with Raw Technique on Roof

One of the most widely used ways of making ceramic murals (since the 14th century ) and which we specifically use in our workshop is the raw glaze technique, that is, decoration with oxides or pigments on the glaze before firing.

The raw-on-glass technique is applied after the piece has been baked in the kiln , i.e., biscuit-fired. The piece is then glazed using a spray gun , a bath , or a brush .

Oxides are applied to the raw cover (on raw enamel, hence its name).

Finally, the tiles are subjected to a temperature of 980ºC in the ceramic oven and we obtain an incredible result .

This brings many benefits and advantages , the most notable being its usability outdoors , since when the oxides are fired they fuse with the enamel, thus ensuring that neither the sun nor the rain can damage the Ceramic Mural , making it very durable .

In addition, ceramic murals are ideal for placing in the entrances of houses or anywhere, giving your home a more original and personal touch.

At Ánfora we make ceramic murals using this technique. Some examples of our work are:
